Plant-Based Comfort Food Recipes

This is the time of year for family gatherings and events centered on food. The whole-food plant-based lifestyle does not have to limit your enjoyment of the upcoming holidays or any food-related gathering. I have been eating this way since August 2017 and it’s taken years to figure out how to make the plant-based oil-free versions of comfort food taste really good. I’ve made versions of these things in the past and they were “OK” but not something I would crave or be excited about eating. I’ve attempted to make some dishes in the class that will satisfy your comfort food craving. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I plan to have these dishes for my Thanksgiving meal this year.

Description

Comfort food is always one of the most popular classes I teach. Sometimes a good old-fashioned plate of plant-based loaf, potatoes, gravy, and broccoli with cheese sauce is the perfect family meal.  I would eat this meal for a holiday dinner.

I’ve made some changes to my mashed potatoes and gravy recipes which I can’t wait to share.  Red lentil loaf will be your new favorite, especially when served with mashed potatoes, gravy, and broccoli with cheese sauce.  Oh, and we will have some chocolate cake for dessert.  As always, the food is whole food plant based with no oil.

Menu

  • Rosemary Garlic Mashed Potatoes
  • Rich Gravy
  • Broccoli with Cheese Sauce
  • Red Lentil Loaf
  • Chocolate Cake
